The Paris peace treaties of 1919/20 had emotional as well as economic consequences for all parties. Losers consolidated long-lasting narratives of loss, humiliation, and, perhaps, revenge. At this workshop, historians and anthropologists will join forces to analyze these narratives and their influence on politics and culture in succeeding generations, including the memory politics of 21st century Central Europe.
