Global Knowledge, Local Implementation: Between Good Clinical Practice and Big Data

Gerd Antes is a mathematician and methodologist at University Medical Center Freiburg and honorary professor at Freiburg University’s Faculty of Medicine since February 2012. He is the director of Cochrane Germany since 1997 and a former member of Cochrane Collaboration Steering Group (until 2004). Moreover, he is the founder and board member of the German Network for Evidence-based Medicine, as well as the member of several advisory boards concerned with systematic use of evidence. Gerd Antes’ work is characterized by his wide range of interests and activities in the field of evidence-based medicine (e. g. developing the German Clinical Trials Register, work to improve knowledge transfer in medical practice). For more than 10 years now, his research has focused on the improvement of transferring results from clinical research to health providers.
