Andreas Brandmaier wins the Heinz-Billing-Award for the Advancement of Computational Science

October 19, 2015

Since 2006, the award has been made by the Board of Trustees of the Heinz Billing Foundation of the Max Planck Society.

Andreas Brandmaier, researcher at the Center for Lifespan Psychology, is the winner of the Heinz-Billing-Award for the Advancement of Computational Science which was given for the methods Roaming Entropy, SEM Trees and LIFESPAN. These instruments extend the possibilities of study planning, multivariate longitudinal data collection, and analysis. Roaming Entropy is a new measure for the quantification of individual differences in spatial exploration. SEM Trees is a new statistical method that combines confirmatory and exploratory approaches to data analysis. LIFESPAN is a versatile tool for the design of longitudinal studies and optimization of their statistical power.
