Kerstin Maria Pahl, researcher at the Center for History of Emotions, was elected to the board of the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA) together with Lara Keuck as a tandem of the Junge Akademie.

"For the German Junge Akademie, being on the ALLEA board is a great opportunity to give young academics a voice at European level. Science and research make an outstanding contribution to a democratic, sustainable, and secure future, both nationally and globally - it is particularly important that aspiring researchers can play a part in this," says Kerstin Maria Pahl, describing the importance of the Junge Akademie in ALLEA.

ALLEA is the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities, representing more than 59 academies from 40 EU and non-EU countries. ALLEA advocates on behalf of its members at European and international levels, promotes science as a global public good, and facilitates scientific cooperation across borders and disciplines. The Board is elected every three years from among the members of the European science academies united in ALLEA. The new Board will take office on June 1, 2024.
