Ute Frevert was awarded The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany
The Federal Cross of Merit is awarded for special achievements in political, economic, cultural, intellectual or honorary fields.
Ute Frevert, Director of the Center for the History of Emotions, was awarded The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. The Federal President, Joachim Gauck, handed out the award to Ute Frevert at Schloss Bellevue on 4th October 2016. The honour is the highest tribute the Federal Republic of Germany can pay to individuals for services to the nation. Professor Frevert was bestowed the award for the strong impact of her scientific contribution on modern social, cultural, and political history at a European and international level.
