Gerd Gigerenzer has been elected honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Founded in 1780, the Academy brings together outstanding personalities from science, politics, art, business and administration.

Gerd Gigerenzer, Director of the Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition, has been elected honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The psychologist and researcher on risk is one of 37 people born outside of the U.S. who were selected this year. Founded in 1780, the Academy honors prominent thinkers from fields including science, politics, the arts, business, and public affairs who seek to advance solutions to pressing challenges in the world. The special ceremony to welcome this year’s 213 new members will take place on October 8 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
