Ute Frevert honored with the Sigmund Freud Prize
Ute Frevert, Director of the Center of the History of Emotions, has been awarded the “Sigmund-Freud-Preis für wissenschaftliche Prosa” (Sigmund Freud Prize for Academic Prose). The prize was first bestowed by the German Academy for Language and Literature in 1964. It is granted to scholars who publish in German and contribute decisively to the development of language usage in their fields of study through outstanding linguistic style. The jury found that Ute Frevert writes with “conceptual clarity, a richness of material, impeccable argumentation, precision, vividness and with great sensibility for the individual historical case”. The award ceremony will take place in Darmstadt on October 31st.
