Mara Mather has been awarded a research fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Mara Mather, professor of gerontology and psychology at the University of Southern California, Davis School of Gerontology, has been awarded a research fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and will stay at the Center of Lifespan Psychology of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development until August 2015. Mara Mather is interested in how arousal affects attention and memory. During her stay at the institute, she will be working on a framework explicating how mechanisms of emotional memory change with age, and how these changes are related to age-related changes in brain function.
