Education has no influence on brain ageing
Longitudinal studies from various European countries refute previous assumptions
Contrary to popular belief, a new study by the EU consortium ‘Lifebrain’ shows that more education does not slow down brain ageing. Scientists from eight countries measured the brain volume of more than 2,000 study participants using structural magnetic resonance imaging. The study, which also involved scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, was published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
