The research project „Mechanisms and Sequential Progression of Plasticity” (PI: Prof. Dr. Ulman Lindenberger) at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Center for Lifespan Psychology (LIP), is looking for a Student research assistant (f/m/d) (40 – 80 h / month)
The project investigates the plasticity of the human brain and associated changes in the organization of behavior during the acquisition of sensorimotor, musical, and cognitive skills, with an eye of age-related differences therein. The set of potential tasks of the research assistant will comprise the analysis of already collected structural and functional MRI data, other forms of data analysis, literature searches, assistance in designing and piloting new studies as well as participation in data collection.
We offer:

- Flexible working hours;
- €12.41 or €14.33 per hour (depending on qualifications);
- Insight into research questions and research approaches in cognitive neuroscience.
We are looking for:
- highly motivated, reliable, and responsible students enrolled in a BA or MA program in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, biology, computer science or related fields;
- interest in developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience;
- good methodological skills (R, MATLAB, Python) and willingness to acquire additional ones;
- willingness to communicate in English;
- the ability to work in a team.
Earliest starting date is January 1, 2025.
