Otto Hahn Research Group

The Otto Hahn Research Group on Associative Memory in Old Age (Head: Yvonne Brehmer) investigated neural correlates of differences in associative memory performance in old age.

Why are some older adults very good at remembering associative information and others are not? The Otto Hahn Research Group on Associative Memory in Old Age was specifically interested in structural and functional brain correlates and genetic markers accounting for interindividual differences in associative memory performance. At the same time they investigated the connection between associative memory and successful aging. These research questions were investigated primarily by using data from large population-based studies from Sweden and Germany (SNAC-K, BETULA, BASE-II).

Research period: December 2012–April 2018
