The “People in My Life” project is an interdisciplinary innovation project among developmental psychologists, computer scientists, and social psychologists. It investigates the potential of ‘felt closeness’ (i.e., subjective perceptions of closeness to family and community members) for social work practice with children and young people. The project is developing a novel instrument to assess and use this construct. By means of technological innovation, the project will provide a new tool for fostering inclusion of children’s perspectives in social work practice and developmental research. The project is funded by the Jacobs Foundation.
