The Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition (ABC) offers internships for excellent students. These internships are highly competitive and the placement will depend on the fit between the background of the applicant and the research conducted at the center.

We prefer students who have research experience and knowledge of our research areas. The goal of an internship is to provide students with a better understanding of the nature and content of the research conducted at our center. The student will work in close cooperation with a research fellow on a jointly defined project and is welcome to bring in suggestions for a research project although this is not required.

  • Duration: Maximum 3 months (mandatory internships may be longer), no minimum duration but applications for internships longer than six weeks are preferred.
  • Payment: Full time internship: approx. €380 per month; part time internship: €190 per month.

For specific questions please do not hesitate to ask (see contact details on the right).

How to apply

Interested students are invited to submit a brief letter in English (maximum one page), describing their goals and interests along with their basic qualifications (e.g., school standings). In order to be considered, this letter must describe in detail how your course of studies would benefit from and fit with the ongoing research in the center. Please also include the names of 2 or 3 potential mentors whom you would like to work with and and note whether you are applying for a mandatory or voluntary internship.

Along with your letter of application, please send the following documents, all preferably in electronic form, to the address on the right:

  • your curriculum vitae (in English);
  • your high school diploma;
  • transcripts of your current course of study, and, if applicable, certificates of your previous degree(s).
