Neue Nachbarschaft//Studio 26 is an open atelier, a center of art and media education for people with and without refugee backgrounds. Who makes art today? Who has access to art? Neue Nachbarschaft//Studio 26 grapples with these questions. Art should reflect society in all its diversity and affect it with the aim of changing it.
Since summer 2016 workshops have been taking place three times a week. At the studio, people of all ages and backgrounds can learn a range of artistic techniques to then work independently in diverse media.
All works on display are for sale and can be taken home immediately. Special orders in other colors and multiples are also available. Price lists and smaller art work can be obtained from the reception.
Half of the proceeds of each sale go to the artist and the other half to the project "Neue Nachbarschaft//Studio 26" to cover rent and art supplies. The project does not receive any public funding, and all of the instructors are volunteers.
