CITY CYCLING 2024

The institute covered an impressive 6,264 kilometers in the CITY CYCLING campaign, saving 1,040.0 kg of CO₂ emissions.

With 30 active participants, the institute ranked 223rd out of almost 1,800 active teams. A big thank you to all the hard-working cyclists who took part in the campaign. Together, we covered an impressive 6,264 kilometers - roughly the distance from Berlin to Mumbai! This saved 1,040.0 kg of CO₂ emissions and sent a political signal for the expansion of cycling as an alternative to the car as the main means of transportation. The campaign is primarily aimed at local politicians, as they are the ones who decide on cycling infrastructure and therefore practical climate protection on the ground. Even if you missed the campaign, you can get on your bike now and prepare to take part next year.

CITY CYCLING is a competition that involves completing as many daily journeys as possible in an environmentally-friendly manner using your bike over a 21-day period. Whether you ride every day or cycled only rarely until now. It doesn't matter whether you already cycle every day or have rarely cycled before. Every kilometer counts – and even more so if you had completed the journey by car otherwise
