Student Employees (f/m/d) | Center for Lifespan Psychology

The research project LINE (Lifespan Neuromodulation of Cognition) in the Center for Lifespan Psychology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin is looking for Student Employees (f/m/d) (36-80 Hrs/Month) to support data collection in a neuroimaging study with adults.

The aim of the LINE research project is to understand how neuromodulatory systems facilitate cognition. In the current project, we will (1) determine whether a non-invasive stimulation of the vagus nerve can activate the tiny neuromodulatory nucleus, and (2) how the activation of this neuromodulatory system affects cognitive functions such as learning.

We offer:

• Work in a young and international team.
• Flexible working hours; gross 15.18€ or 15.84€/hour depending on qualifications.
• Insight into all stages of preparing, conducting, and evaluating neuroscientific studies.
• Training in conducting (f)MRI studies and the possibility of being involved in associated data preprocessing and analysis.

We are searching for:

• Highly motivated, reliable and responsible students of psychology/cognitive science/neuroscience (all semesters) or a related subject with good English and German skills.
• Basic programming skills.
• Currently enrolled in a German university.
• Enjoy interacting with study participants (adults).
• Interest in neurocognitive science / cognitive neuroscience.
• Perspective interest in working on the project for at least 5 months.

The earliest possible start date is August 1, 2025.
