Forschungsinteressen:

Laurel Raffington ist die Gründerin und Leiterin der unabhängigen Max-Planck-Forschungsgruppe Biosozial – Biologie, soziale Ungleichheiten und Entwicklung am Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung in Berlin, Deutschland. Ihre Forschung konzentriert sich auf die Schnittstelle von genetischen Einflüssen und sozialer Ungleichheit und untersucht, wie diese Faktoren zusammenwirken, um unterschiedliche Bildungs- und Gesundheitsausgänge im Lebensverlauf zu gestalten. Ihre zukünftigen Pläne beinhalten die Entwicklung innovativer genomischer Biomarker, die hauptsächlich auf DNA-Methylierung basieren und besonders empfindlich auf das Zusammenspiel von Genen und Umwelt in der Kindheit reagieren und möglicherweise anhaltende Auswirkungen auf das Wohlbefinden im späteren Leben haben.
