Simone Kühn was elected to the DFG Review Board

Simone Kühn, Research Group Leader of the Lise Meitner Group for Environmental Neurosciences at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and Head of a working group at the Centre for Psychosocial Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), has been elected to the DFG Review Board. She is one of 649 members of the 49 Review Boards in 214 subjects and represents the Review Board for Psychology in the term of office from 2024 to 2028. The MPG is represented by a total of 19 scientists.  

The DFG is the central self-governing organization of science and the largest provider of third-party funding in Germany. The review boards, which also include scientists from the MPG, evaluate the funding proposals submitted to the DFG; they check whether uniform standards were applied when reviewing the proposals and advise the DFG on the further development of the funding programs. The review boards serve to promote networking within the disciplines with other scientists. Furthermore, one third of the additional project funding acquired by the Max Planck Institutes comes from the DFG.
