Cumulative evidence suggests that our environment is associated with several aspects of our behavior and mental health.
As babies and toddlers are usually unable to tell us what is going on in their minds, we use creative, scientifically proven methods to explore their thought and behaviour patterns. These methods are child-friendly, playful and carried out in consultation with parents and children, under the guidance of trained scientists.
In what ways do natural and urban environments influence our brains and well-being and how can we measure this? Our Research Center for Environmental Neuroscience is addressing these questions using the HD Rover, a mobile 1,5-Tesla-MRI-SCANNER. It examines environmental influences directly on site and in real time - even in remote regions such as coasts, forests or islands.
