Language Editor and Scientific Writer (m/f) | Center for Adaptive Rationality

The Center for Adaptive Rationality (ARC) at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, headed by Prof. Dr. Ralph Hertwig, is seeking a Language Editor and Scientific Writer (m/f) for a full- or part-time position (at least 20 hours/week), initially on a 2-year contract basis. ARC is an interdisciplinary and international research group where English is the working language. We study how people search for information and make decisions in a complex world characterized by uncertainty, data scarcity, and tight deadlines.

System Administrator (m/f) | Center for Adaptive Rationality

The Center for Adaptive Rationality at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, Germany, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ralph Hertwig, seeks applicants (m/f) for 1 System Administrator (m/f) (TVöD E 11, 39 hours/week). The position is available from 01.11.2017 onwards. The position will help contribute to the Information Technology arm of the Center for Adaptive Rationality. Candidates (m/f) should expertise in programming and web development.

Research Scientist (m/f) on Neuroscience of Decision-Making | Center for Adaptive Rationality

The Center for Adaptive Rationality at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ralph Hertwig, seeks applicants (f/m) for the post of 1 Research Scientist (m/f) on Neuroscience of Decision-Making  (E 13/14 TVöD; 39 hours/week). This is a 3-year position (with the possibility of further extension). Salary and level depends on experience. The position is available from December 1, 2017, but a later start date is possible. The position will help contribute to the cognitive neuroscience arm of the Center for Adaptive Rationality.

Research Internship on Human Foraging | Center for Adaptive Rationality

The Center for Adaptive Rationality directed by Prof. Hertwig at the Max Planck  Institute for Human Development is seeking applicants for a research internship on Human Foraging. The project consists of data entry and subsequent analysis of catching success of ice fishing competitions. The internship offers the possibility to gain first-hand experience in scientific data collection and analyses in a stimulating research environment. Internships typically last 10 to 12 weeks or longer.
