Mobile MRI – HD Rover
In what ways do natural and urban environments influence our brains and well-being and how can we measure this? Our Research Center for Environmental Neuroscience is addressing these questions using the HD Rover, a mobile 1,5-Tesla-MRI-SCANNER. It examines environmental influences directly on site and in real time - even in remote regions such as coasts, forests or islands.
This enables research to be taken out of laboratories and into people's everyday lives. This opens up new environments and allows population groups that have rarely been part of neuroscientific studies in the past to be included, such as people living in rural areas, children in daycare centres and prison inmates. It will also be possible to study unique populations such as twins or people in extreme environmental conditions more effectively in the future.
Further information can be found in our news article about the launch of the mobile MRI.
