Elliot Tucker-Drob is honoured with the Max Planck Humboldt Medal 2019

The Max Planck Humboldt Medal is awarded to scientists with high research potential.

Elliot Tucker-Drob, Associate Professor at the University of Texas, Austin, USA, is this year’s recipient of the Max-Planck-Humboldt Medal for his contributions to lifespan psychology. Prof. Tucker-Drob investigates how genetic and environmental differences shape individual development. His insights into gene-environment co-variations have contributed to a nuanced understanding of equal opportunities in educational contexts. The Max Planck Society and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation grant the Max-Planck-Humboldt Medal each year, along with the Max-Planck-Humboldt Research Award. The medal is endowed with 60,000 euros. It is awarded to researchers with outstanding future potential who intend to collaborate with colleagues at a university or research institution in Germany. In the years to come, Elliot Tucker-Drob will periodically visit the Center for Lifespan Psychology at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development to collaborate with Andreas Brandmaier and Ulman Lindenberger. The award ceremony will take place on 5 November during the Berlin Science Week.
