Main Focus
Patrick Nüß is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Humans and Machines at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). His research lies in labor economics, labor and employment relations, public economics, and experimental economics.
His work examines how labor market institutions, employers, and the organization of work shape human behavior, performance, and economic opportunities. He uses experimental and quasi-experimental methods as well as large-scale behavioral data. His current research covers employer opposition to unionization, labor-market tightness and union activity, talent allocation between startups and established firms, and the effects of external shocks and working-time arrangements on cognitive performance and participation.
Before joining the Max Planck Institute, Patrick was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Halle Institute for Economic Research. He received his PhD in Quantitative Economics from Kiel.
