Student Assistant (m/f/d) in Science Communication with the Max Planck Research Group Biosocial for approximately 40 hours per month beginning ~ January 2026

Our Offer

The Max Planck Research Group "Biosocial – Biology, Social Disparities, and Development," led by Dr. Laurel Raffington, takes an interdisciplinary approach to study the interaction between social inequality and genetics in human development. We aim to communicate genomic science in a way that minimizes biodeterministic misconceptions. We are looking for a student to assist with this science communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in creating illustrations and videos for scientific publications, presentations, and press.
• Help develop educational genomic resources.
• Maintain our website.
• Prepare scientific activity reports and lists.

Working Conditions:

• Approximately 40 hours per month with flexible scheduling.
• Hourly rate: €15.18 for bachelor's students, €15.84 for master's students.

Qualifications:

• Enrollment at a German university in fields such as science communication, media and communication, graphic design, journalism, or related areas.
• Minimum commitment of 1 year.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both German and English.
• Interest in intercultural communication.

• High level of social competence.
• Strong commitment, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Regular in-office attendance.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Note: This position is only open to individuals currently enrolled in a German university.
