Student Research Assistant | Center for Adaptive Rationality

The Center for Adaptive Rationality directed by Ralph Hertwig at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development is seeking applicants for a position as Student Research Assistant to assist the ongoing research in all phases of the scientific process. Research assistants are usually employed on a basis of 41-80h a month. Position lasts for 6 months minimum and can be prolonged given mutual interest. Anticipated start date is June 1st 2023 or later by agreement.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Biology or a related subject at a German university
  • High in flexibility and commitment
  • Good level of English
  • High achievement level
  • Interest in participating in research on social decision making

Desired Qualifications (not all need to apply)

  • Skills with video analysis
  • Skills with data wrangling
  • Skills in statistics and statistical software (R, Python etc.)

What we offer

The research center for Adaptive Rationality is investigating various aspects of judgment and decision making. We offer you the chance to participate in an international and interdisciplinary research team. The position is to assist our research on the socio-ecological drivers of human foraging in the wild using icefishers (see for more info: https://youtu.be/0G5nO6qlnoM). Acore component of the activities is to analyze video data using event logging software (https://www.boris.unito.it/).
