The Central IT at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin seeks applicants for a IT student assistants (f/m/d), 16 hours/week.
The position is limited to 12 months with the possibility of extension.

The Central IT at the Max Planck institute for Human Development is going through a modernization process including multiple exciting projects and many programming tasks.

About the job

The ideal candidate will help us automate business workflows using Jira Service Management, or build programmable interfaces between the hardware inventory system and the mobile device management system, or will help us automate the creation of DNS records using infrastructure as code. Furthermore, you will help with the day-to-day tasks like packaging the various software into the mobile device management, or help out with the data center or with client management. It’s a plus if you are an audio-video enthusiast who enjoys equipping conference rooms with a modern standard.

Your profile

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program at a German university (ideally computer science or related field).
  • Strong general technical foundation and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Programming fundamentals: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Typescript, Git, Azure, Windows and MacOS fundamentals.
  • Experience in programming, for example Java, Python or JavaScript.
  • First-hand experience in Web development (JS, HTML, CSS, HTTP).
  • Experience in Bash scripting or PowerShell is a plus.
  • First-hand experience or willingness to learn cloud technologies like Azure and Kubernetes.
  • Passion for Hifi audio and video technologies.
