The Center for Adaptive Rationality directed by Ralph Hertwig at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development is seeking applicants for a position as Student Research Assistant to assist the ongoing research in all phases of the scientific process. Research assistants are usually employed on a basis of 41–80h a month. Position lasts for 6 months minimum and will be prolonged given mutual interest. Anticipated start date is November 1st, 2022, or later.

Requirements

Enrolled in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science or a related subject at a German university
High in flexibility and commitment
Good level of English and German
Very high achievement level
High interest in participating in research on human-machine interaction and collective intelligence.

Desired Qualifications (not all need to apply)

Familiar with running online experiments and crowd experiment platforms (MTurk, Prolific, etc.)
Knowledge of basic statistical packages (R, Python, etc.)
Project versioning and documentation skills (git, Markdown, knitr/Rmarkdown, Jupyter, etc.)

What We Offer

The research Center for Adaptive Rationality is investigating various aspects of judgment and decision making. We offer you the chance to participate in an international and interdisciplinary research team. Research assistants will be involved in research using behavioral and computational methods to study the dynamics of individual and collective knowledge exploration. Salary: 11,15 €/hour (Bachelor Students). 12,97 €/hour (Master Students).
