Student assistants work with a Center member in a support role on a specific project. The tasks can differ depending on the project and competition for these positions is keen. Placement is limited and highly competitive.

  • These positions require being enrolled as a student (below master/diplom level) at a university (EU member country). More information about a given offer can be requested from the person in charge via Email.
  • Duration: Up to 83 hours per month, for up to 3 years
  • Payment: 10,98 Euro net per hour

Student Research Assistant Positions

2 student research assistant positions (Studentische Hilfskräfte) at the Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition

The ideal candidate has:

  • Interest in researching human cognition, human development, eye movements, and information acquisition
  • Experience programming (e.g. MATLAB, R,  JavaScript, HTML, php, C#)
  • Experience with calculus-based probability theory and statistics
  • Motivation to contribute your ideas and efforts to a collaborative research project
  • Interest in a long-term working relationship (at least 12 months, perhaps two+ years)
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, the scientific language of the Institute
  • Strong independent motivation to do hard work and good scientific research

  • Diverse tasks, including empirical research with human subjects, reading published literature, mathematical and probabilistic analysis, programming simulations, data analysis, and programming experiments

  • The positions can range from 40-60 hours per month.

  • Possibility of being an author on published scientific papers resulting from the research
